Business Developer (US Federal – IRS)

Position Description:

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Developer to help us identify, capture, and bid new opportunities at the IRS. You will represent the company to IRS clients and industry partners in order to develop and nurture relationships and help grow the company. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through new opportunities. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter who has strong negotiation and communication skills. Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the growth of the company, working alongside our Leadership team.


  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers and partners
  • Develop IRS opportunities pipeline, conduct research to identify new opportunities and customer needs
  • Conduct capture on new opportunities, gathering intel and increasing our pWin
  • Support proposal development, writing, and pricing
  • Negotiate terms with partners and build teams for bids
  • Promote the company’s capabilities and services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Collaborate with Leadership team on strategies to meet objectives, improve current performance, and maximize business potential
  • Update opportunities in the company Pipeline
  • Work with employees on the front line to identify new opportunities or client needs

Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business or IT Management
  • Proven track record of successful business development at IRS
  • Proven successful work experience (at least 10 years) as a Business Developer
  • Experience and current relationships at IRS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with internal and external teams, partners, and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical thinking, planning, and executing
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience writing and evaluating proposals and developing competitive pricing
  • Tech-savvy with working knowledge of MS Office programs and SharePoint
