Quality Manager (Technical tester and process manager)

Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. Active IRS MBI clearance is a plus.

Evaluates, reviews, and advises on programs to verify that functions perform according to requirements. Validates solutions perform to established guidelines. Creates and reviews writing, reviewing revising and verifying quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluations. Participates in the review of standards, procedures, tools, and processes, monitoring, managing, and communicating with developers on defects. Assists project managers and teams to solve QA issues.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes
  • Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
  • Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
  • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
  • Approve the right products or reject defectives
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
  • Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures
  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements

  • Active IRS MBI clearance is a plus.
  • Proven experience as Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
  • Conscientious and responsible
  • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
  • Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
  • Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and SQL
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
